Acne Treatment
New Radiance has developed comprehensive acne treatment program that combine the most up to date laser treatments, chemical peels and pharmaceutical-grade products to safely and effectively treat acne.
By combining different lasers with light based photodynamic therapy and traditional medical skin care products, patients have options when it comes to preferences for price, number of treatments and lifestyle. Although there is no acne cure, we have worked years to develop several effective combinations of laser treatments, chemical peels and products that 80% of our patients are satisfied with.
We use the intense light energy of the lasers to destroy the P.acnes bacteria that cause active lesions. After these treatments, sebaceous (oil-producing) glands are shrunk using the lasers and/or photodynamic therapy. This then causes the glands to produce less oil, thereby limiting future outbreaks and reducing pore size. There are several methodologies to shrink the sebaceous glands using lasers with one being Photodynamic Therapy (PDT). In Photodynamic Therapy for acne, a photosensitizing medication (ALA or Aminolevulinic acid) is absorbed into the pores of the skin to further target laser energy in the oil producing sebaceous glands.

What causes Acne?
Acne is caused by pores which become clogged and then infected with bacteria. It is not necessarily caused by diet or lack of hygiene. Acne treatments typically aim to destroy the bacteria or improve the function of the skin so it does not become clogged.

How can Acne be treated?
New Radiance has several different very effective methods for treating acne including Ultraviolet light treatments, laser and chemical peels. Ance can be treated with new technology. Let us help.
Chemical Peel Vi Peel for Acne – NEW!
VI PEEL ACNE is the most effective Acne treatment available today! It contains powerful ingredients for superior, consistent results: Benzoyl Peroxide removes bacteria, clears the pores & increases cell turnover Salicylic Acid: causes the cells of the epidermis to shed, opening clogged pores and neutralizing the bacteria within while constricting the pore diameter to prevent further clogging Vitamin C: A powerful antioxidant to remove toxins from the environment Kojic Acid: brightens skin and reduces acne scars.
Chemical Peels are a category of advanced clinical skin rejuvenation treatments that aid in reversing damaged skin due to factors such as aging, sun exposure and acne. There are three levels of Chemical Peels ranging in intensity and strength:
- Alphahydroxy Acids – (AHA) These are the mildest form of Chemical Peels and provide smoother, brighter-looking skin with no downtime. The peels’ ingredients originate from glycolic, lactic and fruit acids.
- Trichloracetic Acids – (TCA) This type is a medium-depth peeling system that may be performed in different variations. Fine surface wrinkles, superficial blemishes and pigmentation problems are commonly treated with this type of Chemical Peel.
- Phenol This is the deepest, strongest Chemical Peel procedure with the most dramatic and longest-lasting results. Since Phenol can cause the skin to lighten, your skin tone should be taken into consideration when deciding whether this level of treatment is right for you.
Blue Light Phototherapy

During Blue Light Phototherapy, high-intensity blue-violet light is applied to the face by a medical professional. The light activates photosensitizers within the acne bacteria. This creates a toxic bactericidal environment in the sebaceous glands, which inhibits the formation of the acne lesions. The light may be applied alone or may be combined with an anesthetic. Seventy to ninety percent of acne is cleared after the recommended number of treatments.LED Skin RejuvenationBlue LED Lights cause a shock response in bacteria, which causes them to die, clearing acne. LED Skin Rejuvenation is completely safe because the light is cool and is not harmful to the skin. There are no undesirable side effects. You can see results after the first treatment, and they become more dramatic after each session.
Acne LuxV Treatments
Lux V clears acne safely and effectively with a series of concentrated pulses of light and heat. The green wavelength light penetrates deep enough into the skin to cause proliferation of endogenic porphyrins, resulting in the destruction of the P.Acne. The concentrated pulse is up to 10,000 times more effective in porphyrin activation than the continuous wave light used by other light-based technologies. The red wavelength produces anti-inflammatory results. The addition of heat, unique to the Lux V method, further increases the effectiveness by opening the skin.
While studies show that acne is not caused by diet or stress but by physiological factors such as hormones, excess oil and bacteria, patients often place the blame on their own shoulders. Acne lesions are prevalent on parts of the body where there is a high concentration of pores that contain oil-producing sebaceous follicles, such as the face, neck, chest, shoulders and upper back.
When these follicles become clogged and inflamed, blackheads and whiteheads develop, If a whitehead or blackhead ruptures, its infected contents come into contact with the skin and the infection spreads – producing what is classically referred to as pimples. In a worst-case scenario, the pimples become so badly infected it turns into a cyst that is located deep in the skin. If left untreated, these painful lesions can lead to an acne scar.
Marked reduction in acne lesions often occurs within a couple of treatment sessions, and a series of treatments should result in acne clearance for more than six months.
The LUX V treatment typically takes about 20 minutes depending on location and amount of lesions. The patient will experience a slight snapping or stinging sensation that is alleviated by the patented cooling technology of the LUX V. A series of treatments are delivered at different intervals in order to achieved the desired clearance.
Ultraviolet Light Therapy
Ultraviolet light has been used to sterilize equipment for years. It can be applied to the face to destroy bacteria such as those that cause acne. The two types of ultraviolet light are UVA and UVB. UVB light can be used on its own, while UVA light must be combined with topical medication in order to show results.
Photodynamic Therapy
Photodynamic Therapy is used to treat severe acne. A photosensitizer drug is administered to the patient topically or through an injection. When light from the laser is directed on tissue containing the drug, it becomes activated, and the tissue is rapidly destroyed. Patients can return to regular activities immediately following the procedure; however, they must stay out of the sun for a few weeks after treatment.
