Clinical studies of CoolSculpting report an average of 20 to 30-percent fat loss per treated area. It does not work on obesity; rather Zeltiq is designed for spot treatment of areas such as love handles, back fat, bra rolls, and stomach rolls.
During the procedure the fatty area is pinched between the CoolSculpting applicator arms. This applicator then delivers cools this fat.
Venus Freeze
Venus Freeze® is another non-invasive treatment that uses a combination of pulse magnetic fields and radio frequency to reduce the appearance of cellulite and for circumference reduction.

Vaser Shape from Sound Surgical Technologies
Vaser Shape is fighting body fat in a different way, with ultrasonic energy just like Liposonix but unlike Liposonix, non-painfully. Vaser Shape utilizes a duel system of ultrasound diathermy and lymphatic massage which heats the dermis and melts fat but also allows the lymphatic massage to drain away excess toxins and lipids from the body. This new technology has gained a great deal of attention for its ability to effectively target specific areas without affecting surrounding tissue and unlike Liposonix you don’t have to take painkillers.
How Does Liposonix Differ From VASER Shape?
According to Kentucky plastic surgeon Dr. Julene B. Samuels, “There are two different types of ultrasound technology: focused and non-focused. Focused ultrasound, such as Liposonix causes fat cells to explode by placing a direct beam over the spot fat. Non-focused ultrasound, such as VASER Shape can treat a broader area while also providing skin tightening.”
Dr. Samuels, who has had extensive experience with non-focused ultrasound technology such as the VASER Shape, says one of the main differences between Liposonix and VASER Shape is the amount of pain associated with the procedures. Due to the high intensity of focused ultrasound, there is discomfort during the procedure. “The greatest advantage of non-focused ultrasound such as VASER Shape, is that the procedure is completely painless. It feels like a gentle heat, similar to a hot stone message,” explains Dr. Samuels, “If it ever heats up to the point that the patient gets a little uncomfortable, it’s not nearly the degree of the discomfort they would feel with a focused ultrasound device.”
Ultrasonic fat reduction machine uses low frequency wave energy to reach deep fatty tissue layers.
The device delivers beams of ultrasonic energy at a frequency of 1MHz. The ultrasound beams treat fatty tissue between 1 - 5cm below the skin's surface. This results in both acoustic thermal and acoustic mechanical effects that heat the treated areas and destabilize the fatty tissue underneath.
The ultrasonic energy stimulates the fat cells to release their lipid content. Then the ultrasound acoustic forces go to work, helping push the lipids away from the fat cells and into the lymphatic system.
